Assessment First

Every restoration begins with thorough assessment. We document existing condition, identify original construction methods, and distinguish between age-appropriate patina and damage requiring intervention.

Written reports with photographic evidence and recommended treatments are provided before work commences. We never strip, sand, or alter historic fabric without explicit client approval.

Structural Repairs

Loose joints are disassembled, cleaned, and re-glued with reversible animal-hide glue where conservation standards apply. Missing sections are replaced with matched timber, shaped and finished to blend with surrounding fabric.

We stock period-appropriate hardware and can commission bespoke castings for irreplaceable fittings.

Surface Restoration

French polishing, wax finishing, and traditional shellac applications restore lustre to aged timber without destroying character. Paint analysis can identify original colour schemes for accurate replication on painted pieces.

Fire and water damage present particular challenges. We have successfully restored cabinetry affected by flooding and smoke, though each case requires individual evaluation.

On-Site and Workshop

Built-in joinery — panelling, fitted cupboards, shutters — is restored on site where removal would risk further damage. Free-standing furniture is typically restored in our workshop under controlled conditions.

Collection and delivery within a 50km radius of Padua is included for workshop-based restoration projects.

Restoration Pricing

Simple joint repairs and hardware replacement start from EUR 280. Full surface restoration of a dining table or sideboard ranges from EUR 1,200 to EUR 3,800 depending on size and condition.

Major built-in restoration projects are quoted following site inspection. We provide staged quotations for large commissions, allowing clients to prioritise work by urgency and budget.
